50 days of celebrating Easter are with us here and NOW! Eastertide lasts until the Saturday before Pentecost. 50 great days of Easter!
Remember too, the third precept of the Church is to partake in Holy Communion at least once during Easter (CCC 2042). And since you cannot receive Holy Communion outside the state of grace, you should go to confession first - which is the second precept - that is, to go to confession at least once per year - so you can achieve two precepts within these 50 days!
Of course, that you only have to receive communion once per year does NOT mean you only go to Mass once per year! The first precept of the Church is to attend Mass on ALL Sundays AND holy days of obligation. You can attend Mass and participate without receiving. So if you have NOT been going to Mass every Sunday and holy day of obligation, then you are in serious (mortal) sin, which separates you from saving grace - and you MUST go to confession prior to receiving the Eucharist. So DO IT!
If it has been a while, all it takes is one confession and YOU'RE BACK! Born again into the Faith of Jesus Christ in the Church He built with His Apostles, our first bishops, and continues to this day! You do not get this solidarity with Christ in ANY other church! Come home if you have been away! Be renewed in the Spirit of God! It may seem difficult at first, but once you have confessed again, you will feel like a huge burden has been lifted - and one HAS been so lifted!
